Yahoo’s CEO Carol Bartz has been fired after her two and half years stint in her top job. Tim Morse, Yahoo’s CFO, will take over from Ms Bartz.
Bartz faced criticism for her leadership and in company’s view she has failed to make Significant strides in Search and Social networking.
Roy Bostock, chairman of Yahoo’s Board, said in a statement, “On behalf of entire board, I want to thank Carol for her services to Yahoo during a critical time of transition in the company’s history and against a very challenging macro-economic backdrop.”
Here is an email form Ms. Bartz to Yahoo Staff sent from her iPad.
I am very sad to tell you that I’ve just been fired over the phone by Yahoo’s Chairman of the Board. It has been my pleasure to work with all of you and I wish you only the best going forward.
