We had a chance to check out the OPPO F1 at the demo area of the event location and here are our first impressions on this device.

The design of the device is beautiful and eye catching with a unibody metallic finish. As per the brand, they have used a high quality aluminum alloy for the back panel. After close to 40 polishing procedures, the designers of OPPO were able to make good on their vision of giving the F1 a texture like “silk metal” to give a perfect build for the device. The 60 degree curved edges and bezel looks beautiful and premium look.

The display of the device is crisp and clear. The device fits perfectly in hand and the metallic finish gives a perfect grip in hand. The hardware buttons are in right place and the keys operates smoothly. Performance wise, the device is smooth and switching between the screens and doing multi tasking is hassle-free.

Color OS 2.1 from OPPO has some pretty simple and non-complicated with access to all settings and menus easily for even a novice user. The one hand operation feature is nifty and useful where in one can just minimize the complete display into a small size and operate the entire icons on screen using just one hand. User just has to swipe their finger from either left hand bottom or right hand bottom corner based on their preference whether an user is a left-handed or right-handed person. Camera quality of the device is also pretty decent which could capture the details very clearly even on the pictures clicked using a full zoom. The Selfie features are good too where in a person can click some creative selfies using the features specifically available on F1. The camera gives 8 kind of filters while clicking the picture. The rear camera supports PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus) which is the high speed autofocus technology delivering a focus time of just 0.1 second and also provides anti-shake optimization. The camera is backed by OPPO’s own Pure Image 2.0+ photography platform, offering a huge range of filters and plug-ins. The other camera features include UltraHD, Double exposure, Slow Shutter, Super GIF, Panaroma, Super Micro and HDR. Where as the front camera comes with a 1/4 inch sensor which gives 30% more clearer picture and also comes with a F/2.0 which gives 44% more light. The F1 also offers OPPO’s Beautify 3.0 feature, which ensures stunning selfies in all conditions. Beautify 3.0 removes blemishes, highlights a subject’s features and includes 3 different beautify modes along with 8 filters. One amazing feature integration in F1 front camera for clicking selfies in low light is that it uses the front display itself for an extra light by glowing to full potential when someone tries to take selfies in low light, this feature is patented by OPPO and called Screen Flash Feature. In addition, F1 can capture selfies using hand gesture and spoken commands. By opening a palm in front of the camera, or simply by saying ‘cheese!’ users can activate an automatic selfie with an adjustable countdown. Playback of Video is pretty good and the Sound also good which comes with a Dirac HD sound on the device. With Dirac Sound, one can enjoy high-fidelity, stereo sound output for both earphones and speakers, so one can listen to music or watch videos at a level of quality that is as close to the original as possible.

We would come up with more detailed review on the device as soon as we play around with the device for some days. Stay tuned for the same.
