The Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 (Model: SM-G7102) is the next version of Samsung's hit big display phone Samsung Galaxy Grand among the masses due to its less prices and affordablity. Though there are lot of differences between these two models. Grand 2 comes with better specs, look and feel and has a premium look when compared to Galaxy Grand. Also, its decently prices at Rs. 22,999/- . We thank Samsung India for providing a trial device for our review.

Look and Feel:

At first Glance, the Galaxy Grand 2 is striking with its premium look. There is no marginal difference in the look and feel when compared to its predeccessors, but with 5.25" TFT display which supports 1280x720 HD resolution, it looks charming. There is a shiny chrome finished ring around its edges . Home button is slightly raised in Grand 2 with usual backc and menu buttons. The icons light up when you are using the phone, but otherwise its hidden. You can tap on them whether or not they are glowing. At the back, we can see the faux leather texture with fake stitching arount the edges. This design was first seen in the Galaxy Note 3 and recently on Galaxy S4 too. This gives a decent grip to the phone and doesn't slip. This design definitely helps if you are a rough handler of the phone and keep it anywhere you want on rough surfaces without worrying too much about scratches.

The Standard power button is on the right side of the phone while volume rockers are on the left which are easily reachable while you are handling the phone single handedly too. There is a 3.5 mm audio jack on the top and a Micro-USB port for charging and data transfer at the bottom.

The plastic back is easy to peel which allows you to remove the battery and insert two micro-sim's and a micro-SD card.

The Galaxy Grand 2 is not bulkier weighing just 163g with dimensions 146.80 x 75.30 x 8.95 mm (HxWxD).
